Start with the brim and crown

The brim changes the outline around your face; the crown changes how much of your head the hat covers. Choose the shape you want before narrowing down the logo or color.

Hat typeWhat to compare
Baseball and sized capsCompare the front profile, crown depth and brim curve. Check the back before choosing: a row of size numbers and an adjustable closure are different ways to get the fit you want.
Trucker hatsLook at the front panel and mesh sides separately. Choose the patch or embroidery you want, then compare how high the front stands and how the rear closure adjusts.
Bucket hatsCompare the all-round brim, its slope and the crown depth. Ask for the inside head opening and a side view; the outer brim width does not tell you the fit.
BeaniesChoose the cuff height and amount of fabric above it. A short folded beanie and a taller unrolled shape give different coverage even when both are described as one size.

For an all-round brim, compare the white Miu Miu bucket hat with a bucket hat you already wear. Ask for brim width from the crown seam to the outer edge, plus a side view showing its slope. A broad brim and a deep crown are separate choices.

Measure where you want the hat to sit

The brown cap lists options such as “58.7cm(73/8码),” while the black patch trucker cap is marked adjustable. Neither option tells you the crown depth. Check both the opening size and the shape above it.

  1. Measure around the intended wearing line. Run a flexible tape around your head above the ears and across the part of your forehead where the hat will sit. Keep it level and comfortably in contact, without pulling it tight. Repeat and record the measurement in centimetres.
  2. Use that listing’s size chart. Compare your measurement with the seller’s stated range. For a sized cap, confirm the marked size and inner circumference. For an adjustable cap, ask for the smallest and largest usable settings; “adjustable” does not state those limits.
  3. Compare crown depth with a hat that sits well. Ask how the seller measures depth, then use the same inside start and end points on your reference hat. Matching circumference alone will not tell you whether the crown reaches your ears or sits higher.
  4. Keep the brim shape in the comparison. Ask for a level front and side view. If you want a flatter or more curved brim, choose an option already showing that shape rather than assuming the material can safely be reshaped.

For beanies, keep the fold and stretch consistent

The light Carhartt beanie and navy Lacoste beanie both show folded cuffs, but the visible cuff and crown proportions differ. Decide how much fabric you want above the fold and how low you want the edge to sit.

Lay a similar beanie flat without stretching it, set the cuff at your usual fold, then measure the opening width and the height from its lower edge to the crown. Request the same measurements for the option you want. Doubling a flat width describes an unstretched opening, not the full range of heads it will fit comfortably.

A CLOSER LOOK BEFORE YOU SHIP

Check the parts that hold the hat’s shape

Use these earlier-order QC references to plan your checks. Confirm the selected option and inspect your own order before shipping.

01Compare the beanie’s cuff and crown

Check it in a QC photo

The white ribbed beanie has a cross-shaped patch on its folded cuff. Compare the patch edges, the ribbing and the crown in the reverse view. Keep the cuff fold consistent when comparing the two sides.

The recorded option is white in one size. This shared listing reference does not establish the relaxed opening, stretch range, warmth or fiber content. The ruler beside the hat does not measure how it will fit a head.

For your beanie: request the relaxed opening and height with the cuff folded as intended, plus close-ups of any snag or patch edge.

Keep the crown and brim in mind when packing

If a cap arrives looking flattened, ask for it to be photographed upright with the crown supported before judging its outline. A fold in a photograph is not enough to establish permanent damage or promise that the shape will recover. For a structured cap or bucket hat, discuss protection for the crown and brim before choosing how it will be packed.

Confirm the number of hats and any included packaging for your selected price. If you are ordering several, ask whether nesting them changes their shape and request the packed dimensions and weight for a shipping quote. See the shipping guide for the parcel details to check.

Headwear fit and shopping questions

What does 58.7cm(73/8码)mean on the brown cap?

It is the seller’s size-option label combining a centimetre value and a hat-size notation. Compare it with that listing’s chart and confirm the inner circumference for the selected option. Do not use it as a conversion table for every cap in the collection.

Will a one-size or adjustable hat fit me?

That wording does not give a fit range. Ask for the usable adjustment range on a cap, or relaxed dimensions and the seller’s fit guidance for a beanie. Start with the head measurement and crown-depth steps.

Can I judge a cap’s shape while it is flattened in a QC photo?

You can inspect visible fabric and artwork, but the flattened shape can hide the crown depth and panel alignment. Request an upright front and side view with the crown supported evenly. Add the rear closure and inside sweatband if they are not shown.

Does a thick-looking beanie mean it is wool or warm?

No. Ask for the fiber composition and care description separately. The images can show ribs, folds and visible stitching; they do not establish fiber content, softness or warmth.

Where can I see headwear with QC photos?

Browse headwear with QC photos. Compare the recorded date, option and visible design with the hat you want. One seller link may include several patches, colors or closures.

Where do I select the size and order?

Open a product and choose “Buy on Kakobuy.” Match the style, color, closure and size again, then confirm the current price and availability before paying there. Our buying guide explains the steps.
