Choose the wash before the size label

A washed surface or deliberate distressing?

The Acne Studios listing names a water-wash black option; the Purple Brand P001 listing names a light distressed pair. Decide whether you want tonal fading or visible worn areas. For a distressed pair, compare the location and extent of openings against the selected option, including the reverse of each leg.

A wash photograph cannot tell you how soft the denim feels or whether it stretches. If exposed openings are a concern, ask for a close-up showing whether fabric remains behind them. Do not assume a worn effect is a defect, or accept an unexpected tear without checking your chosen design.

A quiet front or a decorative detail?

The black logo Balenciaga listing and the khaki cross Chrome Hearts listing offer different directions to compare. Check where the decoration appears, its placement near pockets and seams, and whether it continues onto the back. Use the option image rather than the brand name to decide which design you want.

Separate leg shape from waist size

The N69 listing says boot cut, while the black L-patch listing says straight fit. These names describe the intended silhouette, not measured dimensions. Compare the thigh, knee and hem widths on the selected size; a wide hem alone does not tell you where the leg starts to widen.

For jeans worn over shoes, compare the inseam and flat hem width with a pair that already falls the way you like. Check the rise as well: choosing a larger waist to gain leg length can change where the waistband sits.

Purple Brand P001 uses numeric options starting at 28; N69 uses letters starting at S. Neither code supplies a waist measurement, and the numbers should not automatically be read as inches. Request the chart for the exact option and compare garment dimensions under the same measuring conditions.
