THE APEX BUYING GUIDES · SHOE SIZING

Kakobuy Shoe Sizing: Foot Length, Labels and Insoles

A printed CM size and a ruler measurement answer different questions. Learn which number to compare before choosing a pair.

A shoe marked “cm 30” does not show that somebody measured a 30 cm insole. Before using a number to choose a size, identify whether it describes your foot, a size label or an actual part of the shoe.

Keep foot length, marked size and insole length separate

Swipe across the table to see every column. With a keyboard, focus the table and use the arrow keys.

Identify the object before comparing the number

Foot lengthThe distance between your heel and longest toe, measured using a stated method.A seller chart explicitly intended for measured foot length.
Marked size, including CM / JPA size designation printed on the label or offered in a size menu. The exact option ordered and the corresponding fields on both shoe labels.
Measured insole lengthA ruler measurement of the removable insole, with its endpoints and method identified. An insole from a suitably similar pair you wear, measured the same way.

Do not turn one column into another by adding a fixed amount. The toe shape, width and internal construction can differ, and an insole’s full length is not a measurement of how much usable toe room your foot will have inside the shoe.

Measure both feet and record the method

Follow the measuring instructions of the chart you plan to use. A practical way to record foot length is to secure paper on a hard, level floor, stand with your weight balanced and have someone mark the heel and longest toe with a vertical pen. Step off and measure the straight distance between the marks. Repeat for the other foot and keep both results with their units.

Original illustration — no product measurements or size conversion. The upper diagram measures a foot; the lower diagram measures an insole. Compare like with like.

Check the longer result against the exact seller’s stated foot-length guidance. Also tell the seller if width or pressure over the top of your foot is the reason your usual pair feels wrong: a length number alone does not describe those needs. If you fall between entries, ask how that seller interprets the interval for this option rather than applying an automatic half-size increase.

Use an insole comparison only when the methods match

Start with a pair that fits the way you want and has a reasonably similar shape. A pointed shoe and a rounded trainer can use their front space differently. Check whether the reference insole lifts out easily; leave glued or fixed insoles in place.

  1. Show the whole removable insole. Lay it naturally on a flat surface without stretching it or forcing a raised heel cup flat. Keep the heel and toe ends visible.
  2. Agree on the measurement path. Record whether the ruler measures a straight heel-to-toe distance or follows a curved surface. Use the same endpoints and method for the reference and the candidate.
  3. Check the ruler’s zero. The physical edge of a ruler may extend before its zero mark. Ask for a photograph that includes zero, the heel start point, the toe endpoint and the whole measurement path.
  4. Read the result in context. A similar length can narrow a comparison; it does not settle forefoot width, heel hold or the room above the toes. Keep those concerns alongside the length instead of replacing them with it.

If the candidate has a fixed insole, ask how its internal length can be checked without damage. An internal measuring tool and a removed-insole measurement may describe different endpoints. Do not force out the insole or treat those figures as interchangeable just to complete your table.

Ask for information about the exact size option

For my selected style and size, do you have a chart based on measured foot length? Please confirm what its centimetre values describe. If a removable-insole measurement is available, please show the heel and toe endpoints and the ruler’s zero in the same photo. If the insole is fixed, please explain the available measurement method.

Add your own measured foot lengths and any width concern to that request. If you are asking the warehouse to measure your item, include your order and selected option, and confirm whether the measurement is available and what it costs. A request is not a promise that a particular service is offered.

If the reply supplies only a second label photograph, the label question has been answered again; the measurement question is still open. The QC decision checklist shows how to keep those answers separate.

Check both shoes before international shipment

  • Compare the selected design and color with both shoes, then read the same size fields on both labels.
  • Match any measurement photo to your order, the pictured shoe and the method you requested.
  • If the labels disagree, send both images and the ordered size to Kakobuy before arranging shipment. If a number is simply blurred, request a readable view first.
